dvm2-16Your pet’s teeth and gums are very important to their overall health and well-being. Over time, food and bacteria build up on your pet’s teeth and under the gums, causing everything from bad breath to tooth decay and tooth loss. Periodontal disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed conditions in dogs and cats, and can lead to a number of other more serious medical conditions throughout your pet’s body if left untreated. Routine dental care helps keep your pet healthy.

At Northwest Animal Hospital, we offer a wide range of veterinary dental services, including routine cleanings and digital X-rays. Since pets can’t tell us they have toothaches, we rely on dental X-rays to look below the surface of the gum to assess the teeth and jaw. Our veterinarians have extensive training in dentistry and are highly skilled in complex dental procedures. We will work with you develop a dental treatment plan before and after a dental procedure. Our focus is prevention and will be happy to advise you on ways to prevent periodontal disease to improve overall health.
